The material for this album was recorded between May 1963 and January 1964. Originally they were to be part of a new studio album, the first since 'Pot Luck' a year earlier. In 1963 the soundtrack album to 'Girls! Girls! Girls!' was released in January. May saw the release of another soundtrack album: 'It Happened at the World's Fair' and the soundtrack to 'Fun In Acapulco' was scheduled for release in December. The Colonel decided that there was no room in the release schedule for another album so some of these tracks were issued as singles, while others inserted as fillers various soundtrack albums. The first being 'Fun in Acapulco'. The last track to be released was 'Western Union' on the 'Speedway' album in 1968.
