NOTE:
This was the last vinyl album listed on this site as there had been a steady decline in sales over the years due to the emergence of the compact disc which was introduced in the UK from late 1983. During the rest of that decade and through the next, vinyl sales continued to diminish and eventually it ceased to be offered through the normal outlets which resulted in CD's now being the norm....

It was believed that vinyl would now only exist in the second hand used market or extremely priced new items for die hard collectors.
Digital audio had also evolved into what's commonly known as "streaming". This new format allowed songs to be downloaded or listened to using cloud based music. This ironically damaged the sales of compact disc.

Fast forward to 2008 and there was a little lifesign that seemed to show that maybe all was not lost. Young people possibly bored with "virtual music" started to buy record players and outlets started to stock limited supplies of current artists or reissued classic vinyl records.
Elvis collectors were now being offered new quality vinyl releases through Sony's "Follow That Dream" (FTD) Collector's label. "Blue Hawaii" was the first release in 2009, with a steady assembly line of issues to this present date (2023).
In 2023 it was also announced that vinyl sales had outstripped those of compact disc for the first time since 1987.
This author hopes that this time vinyl is back for good...
