These tracks were recorded during a mammoth session at Stax Studios in Memphis. Both were taken from the new RCA album: "Good Times" (APL1 0475)
NOTE: few theories exist as to why RCA's UK pressing plant had production difficulties during the release of this single. Some point out the possiblilty of a worldwide oil shortage or a more local reason being a labour dispute among the plant's employees.
Either way this issue led to the first variations of this single being imported from the U.S. The Washington plant did eventually press singles later and these variations are quite rare and sought after by collectors. I have chosen to use the first variation of the UK pressing to keep a uniformed look across the site.

Elvis singles hadn't fared so well in the UK charts for sometime. Some of the material of late was very melancholy and out of touch with non-Elvis fans. The formula carried on with this new single. The A-side was a song about adultery and the B-side a gospel song that he would perform live many times.

Elvis came back into the U.K. chart with a bang with the powerful A-side of this single resonating with the mainstream public. It peaked inside the top ten. The B-side was a beautiful ballad sometimes called "Lovin' Arms".

NOTE: When this single was first released in the U.K., British collectors had to import a U.S. copy due to manufacturing and distribution problems across the U.K at the time. The American made for export pressing came bearing a grey label that was housed in the usual RCA generic company sleeve but with a Ptd. in U.S.A located in the bottom corner. Later UK pressings came in a plain white paper sleeve.

Elvis was in top form on this A-side covering a Chuck Berry classic. The B-side was a more softer ballad that Elvis performed live during 1974. Some variations of this single used the title "It's Midnight (and I miss you)". Both songs were included on the "Promised Land" album (APL1 0873).
