This limited edition black vinyl version was released on Elvis' anniversary in August, to commemorate RCA's claim that he was the "Artist Of The Century" at the close of the millenium. This set included a 24 page booklet that contained quotes about Elvis from various famous celebrities. It also contained a poor quality, mock up publicity photograph from the movie "Kid Galahad" inside. The material itself covered various sections of Elvis' career and gave a good representation of the fairly diverse mix of genres available. Strangely enough, "Way Down" his last number one was omitted from the box set.

The front of the box used a September 1956 publicity photograph which was also selected on the original "Don't" single from 1958 and the 1984 "Golden Celebration" box set.

NOTE: HMV obtained permission to release a special blue vinyl version that only comprised of 500 Copies, (this blue set in reality, really looked purple!).
​The HMV box set was a limited, numbered edition that had a HMV sticker applied to the front of the box.
​
NOTE: The records contained in this set were pressed in the U.K by DAMONT, a record manufacturing plant that operated in Hayes in Middlesex. They entered liquidation in 2005 and completely shut down in 2009.
