This album included a 12 page souvenir booklet. The last page on the back was designed so that it could be cut off and used for framing purposes.

The first issues of this album had U.K records in American sleeves with a U.K. HH price code sticker on the rear. The U.S. front sleeves had a round cut out in the centre that showed the front photo on the inner sleeve. Later U.K. sleeves didn't use the cutout, but instead had a solid front with the same photo printed.

Arcade Records under licence from RCA, released this double album containing some of Elvis' biggest hits. It was heavily promoted on TV and proved to be very popular by it's sales. The labels came in various colours as it was repressed quite frequently. This album and "A Legendary Performer, Volume 1", sold in larger quantities than Elvis recent new releases. The common factor was that these releases contained material recorded earlier in Elvis' career.

This LP consistently re-entered the charts over the years and reached number one shortly after Elvis died in 1977.
