This album was released as a 'soundtrack' for the movie of the same name. It was a mix of live recordings from Las Vegas in August 1970 and studio cuts from Nashville in June 1970.

"Patch It Up" and "I've lost You" on this album were recorded live, while the versions released on single were recorded in the studio.

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" is a studio recording with overdubbed live applause at the ending.

In January 1973, Elvis performed two shows in Hawaii as part of his worldwide satellite TV broadcast. The show on the 12th is now widely known as the "rehearsal show" while the concert two days later on the 14th, was selected to be broadcast. This double LP was actually incomplete with some songs omitted from the tracklisting, possibly due to limitation regarding running times. Early copies contained an insert
