This LP of previously recorded material, was a compilation of Elvis' greatest hits to date. It also helped to alievate the fact that no new material was available due to Elvis' induction into the U.S. army seven months earlier. It was a huge seller and had a different tracklisting than it's U.S. counterpart.
It is a unique release in many ways. Firstly, it was issued on the RCA Red Seal label which was normally confined to classical or musical soundtrack releases.
Secondly, it was a gatefold sleeve that contained a beautiful built-in booklet that used eight publicity photographs from the movie 'Jailhouse Rock'. This booklet was originally released in the U.S. twelve months earlier as part of Elvis' Christmas Album.
NOTE: There are many different variations of the booklet and in a lot of cases, different variations of the vinyl record have been mixed and matched with various sleeves.
