Original release: October 1956:

mono (CLP 1093) (01)

This was a re-issue of Elvis' debut HMV album. So essentially this was the first time it was available on the RCA label. Unfortunately the classic front cover was changed using a more modern image from his 1968 TV Special. The mono tracks were updated with the "electronic stereo" makeover. The classic front cover was replaced with a photo from the 1968 NBC TV Show, and the catalogue number had now changed.

NOTE: This LP was issued using the matrix number A2PY.

A = 1971 + 2 = older material         PY = Stereo LP

Side 1: A2PY 0686     Side 2: A2PY 0687

NOTE: This album was kept in stock by re-pressings using this catalogue number. It was later assigned a new catalogue number when released on the International Label in 1981.

Elvis returned to the gospel well for a third time. It's probably fair to see his two previous sacred albums are stronger than this release. That's said, there are some good tracks on this LP. "He Is My Everything" is basically the same song as "There Goes My Everything" recorded in 1970.
