Released: August 1983:

mono/electronic stereo (200)

This album contained 12 mono songs from the fifties that were 'overdubbed' by producers Tony Brown and David Briggs. They kept Elvis' original vocal and updated the sound using some members of his original band (Scotty Moore, D.J. Fontana) and his backing group 'The Jordanaires'.

The remaining 4 songs were previously released on the soundtrack to the 1981 movie: 'This Is Elvis'

'I Was the One' entered the charts for one week on August 20, 1983 and peaked at no. 83.

NOTE:

A German album with the same name was released later in May 1984: electronic stereo (227)

Even though it was not a re-issue of this album and contained different tracks, it had a sticker applied to the back changing the catalogue number from PL 84678 to RCALP 3105!

I have it referenced as a variation 2 sleeve here.
