This soundtrack album went on to become Elvis' biggest seller to date. This crystalised the idea of the Elvis "soundtrack formula" going forward. Great for lining pockets, not so for the artistic side of things. Creativity aside, Elvis had a strong affection for the Hawaiian islands, returning their many times both professionally and personally.
NOTE: This LP was issued using the matrix number M2PY. M2 = 1961 PY = Stereo LP

This album was kept in stock by issuing re-pressings with the same catalogue number
until it was deleted by RCA in April 1969. It was later re-issued in 1970 with the SF 8145 catalogue number.
